Israeli Ambassdor relishes Northern Hospitality

Ambassador Bar-li and Chief Alhassan
ISRAEL’s Ambassador to Ghana, Ms Sharon Barl-li was in the Northern Region last week and one thing she will never forget is the hospitality of the people of the region.
The treatment she received from all the people she met whilst in the region led her to the ultimate conclusion that the hospitality in the north was incomparable.
“I can feel the hospitality of the people and how truly genuine the people are,” she said, at a meeting at the office of the Tamale mayor, Alhaji Abdulai Haruna Friday.

Ambassador Bar-li, who is Israel’s ambassador to Ghana after 38 years, had visited the north to acquaint herself with the development challenges facing the north so as to explore possible areas of co-operation.
She said she was impressed about how she had been welcomed by the people and assisted to perform her schedules.
“I am an ambassador not only to Accra and Kumasi, but to all parts of the country,” Ms Bar-li said, explaining that this is why she found it prudent to visit other parts of the country to have a feel of their way of life.
During her two-day tour, she interacted with political heads in the region, including the minister, Mr Bukari Moses Mabengba.
She also paid courtesy calls on traditional heads in Tamale, interacted with entrepreneurs and later visited Saakuba, a community in the Tolon/Kumbungu district.
